SEATTLE — Following the announcement of their historic partnership, leading esports team Evil Geniuses is proud to support the development of the first Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) competitive team for America’s Navy and the creation of an exclusive six-episode content series.

Made up of Navy Sailors, Goats & Glory is the Navy’s first esports team. Following a program that kicked off on March 15, they’ll help field and train a group of highly-skilled Sailors with the help of Evil Geniuses’ world-championship CS:GO squad, representing cutting-edge fields in the Navy to compete in CS:GO tournaments and events.

In addition to helping recruit and train new players, a content series will feature the Evil Geniuses’ team immersed in the world of the Navy. Along with Sailors from across the fleet, Goats & Glory and the Evil Geniuses will swap tips on teamwork, training mental dexterity and discover how their skills as gamers can easily translate to careers in the Navy. Cameras will be there to capture it all, from skill shots to fails, and fans will be able to watch via YouTube and Twitter.

The collaboration doesn’t stop there. Over the next few months, Evil Geniuses and Goats & Glory will team up at September’s TwitchCon event in San Diego. In addition to appearing at the Navy activation space, Evil Geniuses’ team members will play with fans throughout the event, adding Sailors to their squad and broadcasting special Squad Streams live from the event.

The Evil Geniuses CS:GO team is a top-10 team in the world, having won multiple championship titles, including ESL One: New York, StarSeries, and the Intel Extreme Masters. America’s Navy will leverage their own intensive training and skill sets as Sailors in order to help create this historic esports campaign by building on previous events and advertising sponsorships that engage and relate to Gen Z esports fans.

“It’s an incredible honor to partner with America’s Navy as they take this step forward into esports,” said Nicole LaPointe Jameson, CEO of Evil Geniuses. “As one of the industry’s founding and most storied teams, EG has a legacy of excellence, teamwork, and discipline —values we are proud to share with the Navy. We are humbled to stand shoulder to shoulder with this incredible institution, and we can’t wait to show our fans what comes next.”

“Partnering with the Evil Geniuses provides the Navy a unique opportunity to engage with some of the world’s top gamers and improve relatability with prospective Sailors,” says Capt. Matt Boren, Chief Marketing Officer at Navy Recruiting Command. “The skill sets utilized by Evil Geniuses – problem analysis, risk assessment, sensory perception and split-second decision-making – are the same skill sets required to succeed in critical Navy career fields, such as nuclear engineering, aviation, special warfare, cryptology and counterintelligence.”
