  • Meet Hunter Tyson, PEAK6’s Newest Insurance Analyst

After completing an internship with the Greenwood Project and her bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Hunter Tyson is joining the PEAK6 family as an insurance analyst.

Hunter’s background, coupled with her desire to learn and drive for change, make her a great addition to the team. Hunter will have the opportunity to leverage her strategic thinking and organization to help us articulate business needs.

Learn a little more about Hunter below:

How did you get started with Greenwood Project?

I began working with Greenwood Project in 2018 because their commitment to introducing students to the financial industry aligned perfectly with my vision of success. I quickly realized that the skills and training they provided would enable me to grow and I did. I was able to take on different roles within my University’s technology department ‚Äì from a position as a computer technician to a role as a website developer/coder.

What brought you to PEAK6?

In 2021, I began Greenwood Project’s intense four-week training program which would host meetings with financial professionals. In my second week, I was in a Zoom breakout room with Deb Franklin, General Manager – Business Ops Management at PEAK6, and we immediately bonded over our shared love of art and the continual pursuit of creative endeavors. Having an’artistic brain’ provides a different vantage point when it comes to problem solving. I thank Ms. Franklin for putting me in touch with Mr. Fiete and am excited to apply my innovative thinking to my role at PEAK6.

Why finance?

I have always had a knack for business and money. When I was younger, I started a party planning business, and now, in addition to my role at PEAK6, I’m running a clothing business that specializes in streetwear.

What do you do when you’re not working?

When I’m not working, I’m creating social awareness through my streetwear clothing business or am being creative in some other way, whether it be graphic design or music. I’m an artist.
