CHICAGO — (PR NEWSWIRE) — PEAK6, an investing and technology company empowering disruptors and forward-thinking entrepreneurs to build the world the way it ought to be, announced today that Judi Hart is being elevated to a new role as Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately. Based in the greater Los Angeles area, Hart will serve as a strategic partner to PEAK6’s core businesses and be responsible for safeguarding the culture and overseeing the optimization and execution of operations across all portfolio companies and brands.
Hart was previously Chief People Officer at the company, a position she held since June 2018.
“The PEAK6 culture is based on finding the best people who aren’t afraid to take chances, who bet on themselves and do it with confidence,” said Jenny Just, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, PEAK6. “Judi’s experience with one of the most disruptive startups of the past decade and one of the most well-known consumer technology brands, combined with her top-notch people and organizational skills, make her the perfect person to help lead PEAK6 to higher levels of growth. Her new title reflects her expanded responsibilities, as well as her instrumental role in partnering with all businesses and shared service leads.”
In her new position, Hart will work to strategically position the broader organization for continued growth, serving as a collaborative partner to portfolio company leadership with a focus on ensuring that the talent-centered PEAK6 culture is thriving at the grassroots level. She will also work closely with new investment properties and their leadership teams to ensure a smooth transition into the PEAK6 operating environment and introduce the processes and tech-oriented approach that have helped PEAK6 deliver strong business results for more than two decades.
Having worked at founder-led organizations for most of her career, Hart has extensive experience in explosive growth environments. She has demonstrated expertise in steadily and strategically leading teams of high achievers during fast-paced transitions with a culture-first approach, which she did successfully for major global brands, including Beats Electronics and Apple.
Hart joined PEAK6 from Apple where she was Director of Human Resources for the media business of Internet and Software Services with responsibility for 3,500 employees globally. Previously, she served as Vice President of People and Culture at Beats Music and Beats Electronics, which grew from 25 to 750 employees during her tenure and was eventually acquired by Apple. Prior to joining Beats, Hart held an HR leadership role at Blizzard Entertainment.
“What makes PEAK6 a company of the future is its people who are dreaming up big ideas and ways to execute on them,” said Hart. “Our leadership team has an eye for finding dynamic talent and seeing the solutions and risks that others often miss. We are already changing the world – whether it’s helping a new class of investors get access to the financial markets or optimizing the worlds of professional sports and esports with data – and we’re looking forward to kicking it up a few more notches over the next decade.”
Hart earned her bachelor’s degree in music from the University of Southern California.
PEAK6 uses technology to find a better way of doing things. The company’s first tech-based solution was developed in 1997 to optimize options trading and, over the past two decades, the same formula has been used across a range of industries, asset classes and business stages to consistently deliver superior results. Today, PEAK6 seeks transformational opportunities to provide capital and strategic support to entrepreneurs and forward-thinking businesses, helping to unlock potential and activate what is into what ought to be.
